Gracepoint Christian Church [which is affiliated with the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT] is a welcoming community in Botany, Sydney’s eastern suburbs, helping people encounter Jesus and follow him. Our Spirit-led services are relaxed, creative, and authentic – creating space for genuine encounter with God.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting time in Gracepoint’s story. Following our faithful period of transition and reflection, we are seeking a Senior Leader to guide us into our next season. Our Youth ministry is thriving, and we’re actively serving our Botany community through meaningful outreach, seeing God at work in fresh and authentic ways.
We’re developing Five-fold ministry culture (based on Ephesians 4:11-13) to equip apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, and are seeking a leader who can nurture this vision, grow our community-focused ministries, and shepherd our dedicated, diverse congregation with both pastoral heart and strategic vision.
Who We’re Seeking
Required:
- A growing personal relationship with Jesus
- Theological training and leadership experience appropriate for a Senior Leader in a church
- Minimum five years’ experience in leading ministry teams
- A strong leader with a pastoral heart
- Have no restrictions to working in Australia
- Eligible to be an Accredited or Recognised Minister with the Baptist Association of NSW & ACT
Desired Characteristics:
The successful candidate will be:
- flexible; open to different ways of ‘doing’ church (such as a Five-fold ministry)
- able to inspire, include and work with people
- a good communicator
- enthusiastic; energetic.
He or she will be passionate about:
- God’s word and the work of the Holy Spirit
- vision and strategy
- the priesthood of all believers
- mentoring/discipling people
- working with diverse, multicultural groups.
Key Responsibilities
Key areas include but are not limited to:
- Leading the Elders in seeking God’s revelation for the church’s future direction
- Nurturing clear understanding of our mission and values amongst all members
- Fostering vision, direction and training in ministry leaders
- Actively encourage evangelism locally and internationally
- Overseeing our staff team and completing administration specific to the role
- Preaching and providing pastoral care

Stipend set by Gracepoint’s Finance Team in consultation with the Elders, aligned with Baptist Association of NSW & ACT recommendations, reviewed annually. Five weeks annual leave.
